Opening an account at Halifax is designed to be easy !

Just follow the steps below to open an account with Halifax using the FX Trading Station platform.

You can either open an account online now or print off the application form and post it back: the choice is yours!

Step 3 - Provide additional documentation

100 Points

View 100 Points ID Checklist

For those who are opening an individual or joint account, who have completed the online Green ID check, you can skip the following procedures in Step 3.

For individual clients or joint accounts:

  • A CERTIFIED copy of 100 points of ID, which can include the following:
    • a signed and valid passport
    • a signed and valid driver's licence
    • proof of residency such as a copy of (ANY one):
      • utility bill issued in the last 6 months
      • your social security card
      • a bank statement issued in the last 6 months

For corporate clients and trusts/superannuation funds:

  • A CERTIFIED copy of 100 points of ID of ALL directors of company/trust (see individuals for more details)


  • If a company:
    • a CERTIFIED copy certificate of incorporation
    • a copy of the company extracts. These can be obtain from www.databroker.com.au

  • If a trust/superannuation fund:
    • a CERTIFIED copy of the trust deed.
    • if it is a corporate trustee, we also require documents for the company as detailed above.

Please note: For more information about the 100 point ID, please view the 100 point ID checklist. Also, we cannot accept an ID as both photographic proof and as a proof of residency. As an example, we cannot accept a driver's licence as proof of ID and residency; you must also provide a utility bill as proof of residency and use the licence as photographic ID.

For certification, please use a J.P. or equivalent to sign the document. Ensure that the qualified person signing the document must also include their name, profession and date on the copy.


 

4. Speed up opening your account

For processing, send the completed Client Service Agreement (if hard copy) together with the above-mentioned documents to Halifax:
