MetaTrader 4 - Quickstart Installation Guide

Welcome to the Halifax MT4 quickstart installation guide. This guide will tell you what you need to install Halifax MT4 onto your computer

1. Click here to download the platform. A popup will ask you to download. Click on "Save".

2. The "Save As" box will appear prompting you to save the application. You may either change or accept the defaults, and click Save.

3. The "File Transfer" box shows the estimated download time of the software application. Once the download is complete, you will either be prompted to click "OK" or your screen will return to the download page.

4. If you saved the file to your desktop, find the MT4 icon and double-click to start the installation. If you changed the directory, find the saved file and open it. Click Run when you are prompted to Save or Run.

5. Click Run to begin installing MetaTrader 4.

6. In the "Choose Installation Language" box change the language only if necessary, and click "Next".

7. Please read the instructions, and click "Next".

8. Please read the license agreement, and if agreed to, click on the "Yes, I agree" checkbox and click "Next".

9. Select the destination of where the program should be installed to, and click "Next".

10. Select the program group that you want to show in the Start menu, and click "Next".

11. You are now ready to install MT4. Click "Next".

12. The "Installing" box shows the progress and estimated time left to complete the install. Installation times will vary from user to user based on their system and internet connection.

13. Once you have completed the installation, make sure the "Launch" checkbox is checked, and clicked finish and you can now use the MT4 platform.
