Halifax Traders Work Station - Open an Account

With the one account you can trade Australian and Offshore Equities, Domestic and Offshore Futures, Foreign Exchange (FX) and Options.

You can either open an account online now or print off the application form and post back.

Provide Identification

Under the AML laws (2008) financial service companies are required to verify identification of clients. You will need to supply CERTIFIED copies of identification. Please find below your quick guide to acceptable forms of documentation.

Please note: You will also need to fill out a W8 form. To fill in the W8 form, please fill out Part I, Part II 9a, sign it and date it and you can scan and email or fax this back to us at the corresponding contacts.

Send your documents

You can send us the required identification (or client service agreement if hard copy) via email or fax first to speed up the process of opening the account. However, due to regulations, we will also require hard copies to be posted out to Halifax as well.

If you decide to email or fax us the documents first, we will require the hard copies within 30 days of the account being opened, otherwise we will close the account.
